Prim. Ilhana Šetić - Avdagić, MD
Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Subspecialist in Phoniatrics
A member of the Association of Otorhinolaryngologists and Cervicofacial Surgeons of the Federation of BiH, the Balkan Association of Otorhinolaryngologists, and the European Union of Phoniatricians.
She began her professional career at the Institute of Emergency Medicine of the Sarajevo Canton and later joined the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. Since 2021, she has worked in the ENT department of the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš" in Sarajevo.
Following her subspecialization, she took on the role of a phoniatrics subspecialist, working in the outpatient ENT clinic and participating in on-call rotations. Her surgical expertise includes procedures in laryngoscopy and microlaryngoscopy, encompassing the diagnosis and surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors in the laryngopharynx, partial and total laryngectomies, insertion and replacement of voice prostheses, vocal cord lateral fixation, neck dissection, as well as tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, tracheotomies, and surgical management of head and neck injuries.
Throughout her career, she has continuously advanced her knowledge through participation in numerous professional conferences, seminars, and congresses across Europe.
In April 2023, she was awarded the title of Primarius by the Federal Ministry of Health. Her publications include notable articles in esteemed journals and presentations at international congresses, where she shared her research and insights in otorhinolaryngology and phoniatrics.
